Shamim Nabuuma Kaliisa

Shamim Nabuuma Kaliisa is the founder of Community Dental and Reproductive Health, a social enterprise formed whose goal is to provide pediatric provision of dental and reproductive health services to the low income communities in Uganda. One area of focus as a preventative measure is cervical cancer screening. A critical component to the company’s mission, which also includes advocating for the health rights for marginalized population, is access to health care. All health services are mobile, providing healthcare to rural regions of Uganda.


As a child, Shamim experienced chronic dental pain and faced many obstacles when seeking treatment. In turn, she lost her mother to cervical cancer. Both experiences fueled a passion for helping others. Community Dental and Reproductive Health is seeking to provide avail dental services and cervical cancer screening services to at least 3 million people respectively by the end of 2024.


Shamim is currently a medical student from Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda.

Hasan Basri Tosun

Hasan co-founded Sensgreen with two longtime friends who shared the vision of creating sustainable cities by reducing energy consumption in buildings. Hasan and his team developed an AI-based plug and play energy efficiency tools that optimize the operation of existing HVAC units through sensors, algorithm, data-driven control units, and mobile apps. Since its founding, Sensgreen has forged partnerships with the likes of Google, Mercedes-Benz, and others to realize its goal.


Hasan is a researcher with background energy economics. He is currently a senior in college studying industrial engineering.

Naphat Tansuwan, owner and designer of KRAM-HUG, graduated from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang with a bachelor’s in communication art and design. Naphat created KRAM-HUG, a clothing line whose aesthetic merges traditional Thai fashion with international street culture. KRAM-HUG uses new textiles techniques to push the boundaries of what is possible in streetwear.

Travis Yang’s desire to help fight brain disease led to Neurobit, a biomedical company developing telemedicine devices to care for patients who aren’t physically present for treatment. He and his team developed Neurospeed, a wireless high-resolution recording device that scans of both eyes making nystagmus and eye-movement related examination much more accessible. The device is capable of fully integrating with apps on PC or tablet for video, streaming critical information for diagnosis and treatment.


Currently, Yang is seeking Food and Drug Administration (FDA), CE, Taiwan FDA, and China FDA approval which will take approximately three years. Once approved, his goal is to reach broader populations globally through digital clinical care channels.
