Stephen Shortt is Managing Director of Alpha College of English, one of the leading English language schools in Dublin specialising in helping business professionals; scientists; engineers; researchers; teachers and language students to improve their international communication skills.

Stephen is highly involved in international education and training as well as the inward tourism sectors in Ireland. With a keen interest in social media marketing; video marketing; international communication and presentation skills – Stephen has delivered seminars; workshops and moderated panels internationally, focusing mainly on developing social media strategies and using tools and techniques in the international education sphere.
Stephen has been actively involved in the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) since he joined the EO Ireland chapter in 2013, focusing on supporting the EO Global Student Entrepreneur Awards Program (EO GSEA). Stephen ran the local GSEA competition in Ireland for two years before moving on to support the EO GSEA program in all of Europe. In his roll as the GSEA Director for Europe, Stephen founded the first Europe Regional competition, sourcing students from all over the region to compete for a chance to move onto the Global Finals. With two years of serving as the emcee for the EO GSEA Global Finals and growing the GSEA program in Europe, Stephen currently holds the global role of 2017-18 GSEA Chair. In this role, Stephen supports the GSEA program globally and helps to set the direction of the program for future growth and strategic initiatives.
Stephen is also interested in archery and is the founding chairman of Liffey Archers club in Dublin. Stephen and his Spanish wife have two young bilingual daughters and try to spend as much holiday time in Spain as possible.
