In 2019, Alberto Soto competed in GSEA and pitched his company, Utopia Premium Teas. He placed second at the 2019 GSEA Global Finals in Macau, China and is continuing his work with Utopia. We sat down with Berat Kjamili, the 2018 GSEA Social Impact Award winner, to hear his advice about what it takes to be a successful student entrepreneur. Berat is the creator of Migport, a mobile app which serves as a meeting point between locals and refugees in Turkey. Migport’s story started in 2016 as a knowledge sharing platform inspired by Berat’s own migration journey. It now supports refugees by giving them a chance to talk about themselves and ensure social integration. Over four years, Migport has won over 30 awards and the team is now focused on training refugees to be social entrepreneurs. Here are Berat’s top tips for student entrepreneurs.
